INGREDIENTS
- 250 g all-purpose flour
- 75 g sour cream
- 30 g white wine
- 20 g Tuzemák
- 20 g powdered sugar and powdered sugar for coating
- ½ teaspoon grated lemon zest
- 2 egg yolks
- lard for frying
- pinch of salt
YOU WILL ALSO NEED
- cling film
- kitchen paper
Instructions
- 1Pour the flour into a bowl, make a well in the center, add the egg yolks, and then add powdered sugar, Tuzemák, white wine, sour cream, lemon zest, and a pinch of salt. Mix everything well and knead into a smooth dough. Wrap it in cling film and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to rest.
- 2On a floured surface, roll out the rested dough into a sheet 3–4 mm thick. Using a pastry wheel, cut out bite-sized diamonds, then make three cuts in the middle with a sharp knife so that a lattice forms after frying. Place the prepared Boží milosti on a table and let them rest for another 10 minutes, covered with a tea towel.
- 3In a deep pan, heat a generous layer of lard over medium heat and fry the Boží milosti until golden brown. Place the fried pastries on kitchen paper to absorb excess fat.
- 4While still hot, coat them in powdered sugar.
Tip
You will need a pastry wheel for preparation.
