Ingredients

  • 280 g butter
  • 480 g powdered sugar
  • 200 g finely grated nuts
  • 12 pcs eggs (6 yolks and 6 whites)
  • 4 g vanilla sugar
  • 140 g all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp Czech rum

    Preheat the oven to 160 °C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

    Cream butter with sugar until foamy. Stir in flour and finely grated nuts. Whisk egg whites into stiff peaks and carefully fold them into the batter in portions.

    Spread the batter onto the baking sheet lined with parchment paper, use a pastry scraper to spread it to the edges of the sheet and smooth the surface. Place the baking sheet into the preheated oven and bake for 30–35 minutes.

    Remove the baking sheet from the oven and pour the glaze over the still warm dough. Let it cool. The next day, cut into 5×3 cm cubes.

    In a food processor, cream all ingredients until foamy. Pour the glaze over the warm baked dough.

    Use a mix of walnuts and hazelnuts. Use more walnuts, as they have a more pronounced flavor.
