INGREDIENTS
- 20 g peeled garlic
- 200 g Edam cheese, min. 45%
- 400 g mayonnaise
- freshly ground pepper
- salt
WINE PAIRING
- You'll best prepare your taste buds at the start of the meal with a refreshing sparkling wine.
METHOD
- 1Grate the cheese on a fine grater and place it in a bowl.
- 2Halve the peeled garlic lengthwise, remove the central sprouts and discard them. Grate the garlic on a fine grater and add it to the bowl with the cheese.
- 3Add mayonnaise and mix. Season with salt and pepper to taste and mix again. Let the spread chill in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
Tip
The sprout in garlic contains a large amount of essential oils, which can cause heartburn, and for some guests, the dish might be unnecessarily heavy. Therefore, it is removed when preparing raw dishes or for short cooking times.
