INGREDIENTS

  • 4 boneless pork neck slices
  • 400 ml cream, min. 31%
  • 300 g Edam cheese 45%
  • 150 g peeled onion
  • 70 g butter
  • 100 g canned sliced mushrooms
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 level teaspoon curry powder
  • 1 level teaspoon sweet paprika + for sprinkling
  • 1 level teaspoon grated nutmeg
  • freshly ground pepper
  • salt

WINE PAIRING

  • Pork is best enjoyed with a fuller-bodied white wine.

INSTRUCTIONS

    Preheat the oven to 170 ˚C.

    Lightly pound the meat and generously salt and pepper it on both sides. Slice the onion into 0.5 cm thick rings. Grate the Edam cheese coarsely.

    Grease a baking dish with butter and cut the remaining butter into cubes. Arrange them on the bottom of the baking dish. Place the meat on top, drizzle with soy sauce, and sprinkle with curry powder, sweet paprika, and nutmeg.

    Arrange mushrooms over the meat, then the onion, and cover everything with grated cheese. Pour cream over it, lightly sprinkle with sweet paprika, and bake in the preheated oven for 1.5 hours. Serve with steamed rice.
Tip
You can use 200 g of 45% Edam cheese and 100 g of smoked Edam cheese.
