Ingredients

  • 200 g bacon
  • 1 small yellow onion
  • 1 handful fresh parsley
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 250 g soft quark
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons dried marjoram
  • 1 teaspoon ground sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground smoked paprika
  • 80 g breadcrumbs
  • 400 ml oil for frying

Instructions

  • 1
Dice the bacon into small cubes. Peel the onion and finely chop it along with the parsley. Peel and press the garlic.
  • 2
Place the diced bacon, onion, parsley, and pressed garlic into a large bowl. Add the quark, eggs, dried marjoram, sweet and smoked ground paprika, and 40 g of breadcrumbs. Mix the contents of the bowl and season the resulting mixture with salt and pepper.
  • 3
From the prepared mixture, form 8 equally sized patties, approximately 8 cm in diameter and 1 cm in height.
  • 4
Pour the remaining 40 g of breadcrumbs into a deep plate and then coat each patty in the breadcrumbs.
  • 5
Prepare a large pan, approximately 30 cm in diameter, and heat a 0.5 cm thick layer of oil (about 400 ml) over medium heat. Fry the coated patties in the hot oil for 3–4 minutes on each side over low to medium heat, until golden brown on both sides.
  • 6
After frying, you can serve the patties.
