INGREDIENTS FOR DOUGH AND SAUCE

  • 330 g whole wheat flour
  • 1 sachet dried yeast
  • 30 g olive oil
  • 12 g salt (dough and sauce)

INGREDIENTS FOR TOMATO SAUCE

  • 1 can peeled tomatoes
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 handful basil leaves

INGREDIENTS FOR PIZZA TOPPING

  • 200 g turkey ham
  • 2 pcs mozzarella
  • Aged cheese (e.g., Grana Padano)
  • Black olives
  • Arugula

  • Baking paper

INSTRUCTIONS

    Sift the flour into a bowl, add the other ingredients and 260 ml of lukewarm water. Mix into a smooth dough. In a stand mixer, this will take 5 minutes, by hand a little longer. Cover the bowl with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size.

    Meanwhile, prepare the tomato sauce. Place the peeled tomatoes in a saucepan and add the chopped garlic. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and stir regularly. After a few minutes, the sauce will begin to thicken. Once the sauce is thick enough, remove from heat.

    Preheat the oven to the highest temperature it allows, usually 250 °C, select top and bottom heat, and place a baking sheet or pizza stone inside.

    Dust the work surface with flour, turn out the risen dough onto it, and divide it into 3 equal parts. Form each part into a ball. Transfer each ball to the center of a piece of baking paper and shape the pizza with your hands. Press the dough from the center outwards to the edge. Spread the shaped pizza with tomato sauce, then top with mozzarella and ham. Transfer the pizza, along with the baking paper, to the preheated baking sheet, immediately place it in the oven, and bake for 10-12 minutes. Watch carefully during the last 2 minutes.

    Serve with arugula, black olives, and slices of aged cheese.
Tip
Don't be afraid to involve children in cooking and let them decorate the pizza according to their taste. For example, they can create a face on the pizza using olives. There are no limits to imagination, and by involving them, you will surely win them over to this healthier version of the popular Italian delicacy. Enjoy your meal!
