INGREDIENTS FOR DOUGH

  • 300 g plain flour
  • 125 g butter (softened)
  • 100 ml water
  • Pinch of salt

INGREDIENTS FOR APPLE FILLING

  • 5 apples
  • 100 g butter
  • 150 g sugar
  • Ground cinnamon

INSTRUCTIONS

    Put the flour with a pinch of salt into a bowl. Then add the softened butter (this means the butter is soft, but not melted). Finally, add water. Knead the dough thoroughly and set it aside in the fridge for a while.

    Remove the core and peel from the apples, then cut them into quarters.

    For the caramel, melt butter in a pot and gradually add sugar. Stir until you get a caramel-brown color (be careful not to let the caramel become bitter).

    Once the caramel is ready, pour it into a pie dish or pan (it must be ovenproof) and then add the sliced apples. Place the prepared dish or pan with apples to cook for 10 minutes so that the caramel is well absorbed. (At this point, you can add cinnamon).

    Once the cooking time is up, roll out the dough and cover the apples, tucking the edges inwards. Place in the oven for 20 minutes at 180°C (at least until the dough is baked). After removing from the oven, flip the pie.
