INGREDIENTS

  • 250 g butter (room temperature)
  • 250 g low-fat quark
  • 250 g wholemeal spelt plain flour
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 150 g plum jam

YOU WILL ALSO NEED

  • Baking paper

PLUM JAM ALTERNATIVE

  • Marmalade

INSTRUCTIONS

  • 1
Cut the butter into cubes in a large bowl. Add low-fat quark and spelt flour and work everything together into a smooth dough. For easier preparation, use a mixer with a larger chopper.
  • 2
Place the resulting dough in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 170 °C and line a baking sheet with baking paper.
  • 3
Transfer the chilled dough from the refrigerator to a work surface and roll it out into a sheet about 2 mm thick. Cut the dough sheet into squares (4 cm × 4 cm) and add a spoonful of plum jam to each square. Join the opposite corners of each square and fold them to form a pastry.
  • 4
Then spread all the pastries on the prepared baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, and bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes at 170–180 °C.
  • 5
Let the baked pastries cool for a while, then serve.
Tip
Instead of plum jam, you can use marmalade.
