INGREDIENTS

  • 750 g ground turkey meat
  • 1 medium red onion
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 30 g fresh chives
  • 400 g 5% Greek yogurt
  • 2.5 tablespoons lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons sunflower oil
  • 1 cucumber
  • Chili flakes to taste
  • Salt
  • Pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

    Preheat the oven to 180 degrees - preferably with the grill function. Mix the ground meat with turmeric, sumac spice, cumin, cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of salt or to taste, and black pepper. Now add chili to taste. I recommend 1 teaspoon. Then add 1/2 finely chopped onion and 1/2 chopped chives. Mix everything thoroughly. Shape the meat into small logs and skewer them.

    Heat oil in a pan and sear the skewers quickly on each side. Then transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in the oven for 20 minutes.

    In the meantime, prepare the yogurt dip. Mix yogurt with lime juice, chopped remaining chives, and honey. Season with salt and pepper.

    Toast the pita bread in a toaster, or on a pan or baking sheet until golden. Serve the meat with lime dip, toasted pita bread, cucumber, and red onion.
