Preparation method

Peel and crush the garlic. Peel the potatoes and grate them finely. Add eggs, garlic, marjoram, lard, milk, oil, salt, and pepper to them.

Add baking powder to the flour, crumble the yeast over it, and mix. Add the potato mixture and mix everything together. Let it rise for 45 minutes. The dough will be thinner.

Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Grease a baking dish with lard and dust with coarse flour. Pour the dough into it, place it in the preheated oven, and bake for 20 minutes.

Chef's tip

You can add bacon cut into 1 cm cubes to the dough. Instead of a baking dish, you can use a higher baking tray. The Hluchec will be lower and crispy. You can serve Hluchec on its own or with game meat or with soups, such as potato soup. It is eaten lukewarm or cold. If you double the batch, it will be enough for one large baking tray. For preparation, you will need a baking dish measuring 36×22×8 cm.
