Preparation method
Pour the flour into a bowl, add the diced room-temperature butter, quark, egg, salt, baking powder, and 20 ml of water. Mix everything and knead for several minutes. Let it rest for 15 minutes. Roll out the dough into a sheet 1 cm high and 15 cm wide, and using a knife or a pastry wheel, cut it into 1 cm wide strips, from which you will roll out cylinders with a diameter of 1 cm. Brush the sticks with beaten egg and sprinkle with caraway seeds, coarse salt, poppy seeds, or sesame seeds.
Place the sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 190 °C with top and bottom heat for 20-25 minutes.
