Preheat the oven to 170˚C (top and bottom heat). Prepare a 24 cm diameter cake pan and line the bottom with baking paper. You can also use two smaller (approx. 20 cm) pans.

Separate the egg whites and yolks. Whisk sugar with butter and oil, then beat in the yolks one by one.

In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

Chef's tip

The day before filling the cake, put the can of coconut milk in the refrigerator, and you can bake the cake base in advance.
