50 BALLS
Under an hour

Buy all ingredients right below the recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 160-200 g shredded coconut and 100 g shredded coconut for coating
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (approx. 400 g)

INSTRUCTIONS

  • 1
Melt the butter in the microwave or a small saucepan. Scrape the contents of the condensed milk can into a bowl, pour in the butter, and add 150-160 g of coconut. Mix everything together and let it firm up and solidify a bit in the refrigerator for at least an hour or until the next day.
  • 2
After removing from the refrigerator, check the mixture to see if balls can be formed from it. If not, thicken it with a little more coconut, but you shouldn't need more than 40-50 g.
  • 3
Lay two paper napkins on top of each other and sprinkle the coconut intended for coating onto them. Use a spoon to cut off pieces of the solidified coconut mixture, shape them slightly into balls with your fingertips, even if not perfectly round, and drop them into the prepared coconut. Coat them, and only then finalize the shape of the balls, and if necessary, roll them in coconut once more. Place them into paper cups, store in a cool place.
  • 4
Due to the ingredients used, the balls are intended for quick consumption, which is usually not a problem. They are very unlikely to last until the post-Christmas phase called "you don't eat this at all!"
Tip
For preparation, you will need small paper cups.
