Mix the sifted flour and sugar with salt, add chilled butter cut into small pieces, and quickly work the dough until it resembles crumbs. Spoon by spoon, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of ice water to the dough, mixing with a fork each time until a smooth dough forms. Work quickly so the butter doesn't soften too much; this will make the resulting dough flakier.

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours.

Grind or crush the cloves and star anise in a mortar and mix them with the plum jam.

For preparation, you will need 6 wooden skewers cut in half.
