INGREDIENTS
- 4 burger buns
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 500 g ground beef
- 1 small onion
- 1 green bell pepper
- 3 cloves garlic
- 4 tablespoons ketchup
- 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)
- 1/2 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt
- Pepper
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1Heat oil in a large pan and brown all the meat over medium heat.
- 2Dice the onion and bell pepper into approximately 1 cm cubes and add both to the pan with the browned meat. Add minced garlic and sauté together for about 3 minutes, until the vegetables soften.
- 3Add ketchup, sugar, chili powder, mustard, and pour in 100 ml of water. Stir and let simmer covered for approximately 15 minutes.
- 4After 15 minutes, add tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce. Taste and season with salt and pepper if needed.
- 5Slice the buns in half and toast the cut sides in a pan, either dry or with a little butter or oil. Fill the buns with the prepared meat mixture. If desired, you can spread grated or sliced cheddar over the hot meat mixture. Enjoy.
